Fernando Dias ( Instructor Garnize )

Fernando is passionate about Capoeira and – since he was 13 years old, he knew that this art & fascinating mix of elements from the Afro-Brazilian culture, would lead him to a life dedicated to the pursuit of excellence within this discipline.

He was given his Capoerista “nickname” – Garnize (Rooster) – when he won his first Belt at the “Batizado” and was awarded from the Capoerista Mestre Glauber Fernandes.

He spent around 12 years in the training group “Candeias”, and whilst being a member there , he has taught every Belt level – learning the Group’s honour and respect. 

Fernando’s mission is to further develop his capabilities within the Capoeira discipline & in the course of which to attend workshops in Brazil given by the Garnize Capoeira group and to attend both events & conferences on the subject.

Following which – and having attained an even higher level of excellence, his ambition is to travel elsewhere around the world – plying his profession of Capoerista – while spreading the magic of his art through training, and for the delectation of others.

In December 2007, Fernando travelled to the Netherlands as the first step in this odyssey & stayed a while – to teach & practice in a new Capoeira school created there.

And now he has reached Dubai for the great pleasure of our Community and to share with us this magnificent Martial Art and lifestyle! 

About our School 

The Group of Capoeira Cordao de Ouro, is a relatively young group of new and experienced capoeristas that train under close supervision of Instructor Fernando Dias.
